New Lynn Police Station

New Lynn has a proud heritage of brick and clay, and so it is fitting that its Police Station is a brick building. It has a heritage rating and is described as "stripped art deco" - I don't quite know the meaning of the phrase (but I don't think it refers to police procedures).

New Lynn Post Office. 1962. The land at the corner of Gt Nth Rd and Todd Ave was purchased from S.H. Todd. The Postmaster-General opened this Post Office in 1930. An addition was made to the building in 1941. In 1963 the Post Office Savings Bank Branch was moved to leased premises in Todd Ave previously occupied by Farmers Trading Co.
