The new studio/garage is coming along nicely - it actually looks like one now! The builder finished today, and it is all weathertight. The next steps are to insulate, line and paint it and finish the electrics. I suspect I'll become quite well acquainted with a paint roller in the next few weeks. Any tips?
If you've seen a design on our website, but it's not quite the size you were after, or you would prefer it in a different configuration, then we will do our best to make that happen for you! Carlien like the dinosaurs for her son's room, but wanted them larger than the medium size we offered. So I've made a large size dinosaur decal, which is now available on the website. Doesn't it look great in her son's room?⠀ ⠀ #walldecal #walldecals #decals #customisable #handmade #childrensdecor #childrens
A shift at @thekowhaicollective is a lovely way to spend an afternoon! These ceramic works of art by @creativeclaystudio are so gorgeous. Which one is your favourite?⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #shoplocal #handmadechch #supportlocal #shopsmall #smallbusinessnz #buylocal #nzhandmade #shoplocalnz #nzmade #handmade #shoplocalchch #thekowhaicollective
The new studio/garage is starting to take shape now! The framing is going up and it's slowly coming to life. It's great to be in a position where we can support local businesses and New Zealand made products. Skyline Buildings has all of their components manufactured in New Zealand, so we are doing our little bit to keep the economy moving.⠀ ⠀ #newstudio #workfromhome #selfemployed #supportlocal #madeinnz #nzmade
Yay, The Kōwhai Collective is reopening tomorrow! If you've made a pledge during lockdown to support New Zealand businesses, this is your one stop shop. Everything in store is made by talented local creatives!⠀ ⠀ #shoplocal #handmadechch #supportlocal #shopsmall #smallbusinessnz #buylocal #nzhandmade #shoplocalnz #nzmade #handmade #shoplocalchch #thekowhaicollective
Bright and early this very foggy morning, the concrete truck arrived to much excitement! We now have a concrete pad for the new studio/garage, and I'm a little bit closer to having more space. Can't wait!⠀ ⠀ #newstudio #workfromhome #selfemployed #supportlocal
Happy Mother’s Day! I was lucky enough to get pancakes for breakfast, along with a handmade card and this print from @yhodesign. We have a black labrador called Sophie who has the very important job of chief greeter!
A project I’ve been working on in the background for some time now is coming a little closer to fruition! I have a selection of designs from @katherinequinnillustration which I have transformed into removable wallpapers. They are just in the testing phase at the moment, but I'm looking forward to be able to share them with you when they are ready!⠀ ⠀ #behindthescenes #katherinequinn #wallpaper #designedinnz #madeinnz #removablewallpaper
After an unscheduled five week break, the new garage/studio is back on! The siteworks are underway and the wee man has been having a great time watching the digger in action.⠀ ⠀ #newstudio #workfromhome #selfemployed #supportlocal
Lockdown parcels all ready for contactless pickup by the courier! There is another pile of international orders waiting to go to the post office. Thank you for all your orders during this time, it means a lot. 😍 ⠀ ⠀ #lifeinlockdown #shoplocal #handmadechch #supportlocal #shopsmall #smallbusinessnz #buylocal #nzhandmade #shoplocalnz #nzmade #handmade #shoplocalchch
Last day of lockdown. We made it! How did your lockdown go? Did you have lots of grand plans and didn't achieve any of them? I was imagining lots of time for getting creative and some new product development. What did I do? I kept a journal about the time in lockdown, as I thought it would be nice to look back on. The last time I did this was when I was travelling on my OE, about 14 years ago. I did some yoga nearly every day and made some quite good progress here. I also filed all my paperwork
