Hook the Reader I think to introduce hooks in a story the student should have the option of playing with writing with different hooks. Minnow=little hook, Bass Fish=medium hook, Shark=huge hook. Could be done with a sticky hand and fish on the wall.
Writing Pin This is a writing goals chart. This chart could be put up sometime in the beginning of the school year. As the year progresses and students reach these goals, they can put their names in the spaces. Adjust for Kinder - maybe individual sheets
Assessment: A detailed Writing Chart can be used as a rubric for informal assessments for journal entries or short story writing. Students can refer to a chart which provides them with prompts for a successful entry.
